Sonus Networks, a provider of real-time communications, announced that it has entered into a global relationship with Huawei, a global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, ensuring the full interoperability of Sonus’ Session Border Controllers (SBCs) with Huawei Enterprise’s Unified Communication (UC) and Contact Center (CC) solutions.
Under the global agreement, Huawei will distribute and resell Sonus SBCs with Huawei UC and CC solutions to enterprises throughout the world. Sonus’ SBCs were selected for their functionalities, flexibility, broad interoperability and calls per second (CPS) performance, which will help Huawei secure and enable real-time communications across its key, mission-critical customer sites.
Huawei UC applications can be used in various scenarios by enterprise employees to access Voice over IP (VoIP), collaborative conferencing, remote training and office applications anytime, anywhere. Sonus SBCs enable enterprises to enhance their network by implementing new services such as Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking and safeguard Cloud-based UC.
Featuring both hardware and software options, Sonus SBCs provide a scalable platform delivering session management capabilities, such as multi-vendor interworking, built-in media transcoding, line-rate encryption and advanced routing capabilities. The relationship can allow customers to securely, reliably and intelligently deliver enhanced UC and CC services, including voice, video and Web conferencing, instant messaging (IM) and presence.
“Huawei is an established leader in the global information and communications technology market,” said Tony Scarfo, executive vice president, product management and corporate development, Sonus, in a statement. “Together, Sonus and Huawei can now offer enterprises worldwide a managed UC platform that will reliably and securely foster increased collaboration of employees.”
